Music & Travel
Wumbaya explores nature and culture through music and travel. In the process, he has worn many hats as a lawyer, restaurateur, actor, dancer, musician, composer, producer, band leader, poet, writer and a gypsy.

Currently his services are based in Goa, India and focused on live performances both as a One Man Band and band collective, stage management, sound engineering and event curation.

Bio
Multi-instrumentalist, Wumbaya has travelled, collaborated with and entertained people from across the world. His unique renditions and multi-genre influences culminated in the Debut Album, Jive Tribe (re-release scheduled) and two Singles, 'Maisha Iko Sawa' and 'Shakalaka Wagon'.
His acoustic programme includes his guitars, vocals, harmonicas, hand crash and foot tambourines merging into an unusual and uncanny blend; offering his own versions and unique renditions of timeless music both as a One Man Band and band collective.​​

Throughout his school and college years, Wumbaya explored various sides of performing arts through dance musical theatre productions such as 'Making Waves', 'Hair', 'Fiddler on The Roof',
Having acquired a degree in legal studies and quitting his job within months in 2010, he began travelling and has performed in various states in India including Delhi, Goa, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Meghalaya, Pondicherry, Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, etc. where he`s met and learnt from music and cultures from around the world.

In 2020, Wumbaya cycled from Delhi to Tamil Nadu over two months spanning over two thousand kilometres, without any phone and money. Having tasted the kindness and generosity of rural India he has been busy sharing the story of his incredible journey to intimate audiences ever since, interspersed with his travel songs. ​
Music Collective​

Conceptualized as a jam based reggae and folkrock band, Woody Accouche (2013-2020), now called Wumbaya (2020), is an acoustic and organic band collective that blends the subtleties of classical instruments with contemporary folk, rock, rhythm, and lyrics.
​
The rastafarian vibrance and energetic folk vibe in the music is a culmination of the musicians` many experiences of art and music from around the world.
​
Its associate musicians perform and collaborate, gathering inputs and influences from various cultures, culminating in a Debut Album, titled `Jive Tribe` (re-release scheduled), released in 2017 under the former band name Woody Accouche as well as two new singles 'Maisha Iko Sawa' and 'Shakalaka Wagon' in 2021 under the artist name Wumbaya.
